Microsoft 365: New option to control how Teams client opens office files (I)!

Now in Microsoft Teams we can define the default option to open files within the client. To change that setting, just open the Settings dialog in the Teams client, scroll down to Files section and choose the option you want to use:

Once you select the desired option, it will show up as default option to open a selected file in a given channel. Note that from here you can change at any point the open file option.

Same behavior happens when we make use of the “…” next to the file name to display the file options. Clicking on “Open” will show same file open options identifying the default one configured. Of course, if you click the file it will immediately open using the option configured.

Si queremos cambiar la opción por defecto para abrir archivos Office en Microsoft Teams, no tenemos más que acceder a las opciones de configuración del cliente de Teams y elegir la opción deseada:

Una vez elegida la opción deseada, aparecerá como opción por defecto en la pestaña “Files” de cualquier canal de Teams. También tendremos la posibilidad de cambiar dicha opción al seleccionar un archivo.

Lo mismo sucederá si seleccionamos un archivo y hacemos clic en los “…” para que se muestre el menú de opciones de archivo. Al seleccionar la opción “Open”, veremos por defecto la opción que hemos configurado. Por supuesto, si hacemos clic en el archivo se abrirá de acuerdo a la opción que se ha configurado.
