Office 365: How to request to add new members to a Team (I)!

So far, only Teams Owners had the possibility to add new members to private Teams. Microsoft did not provide a mechanism so team members could also request new people to be added to the Team. Fortunately, that mechanism is already available so any Team member can ask to the owners of a private Team to add new people by using the “Add member” option:

Once a Team member uses that option, a dialog to request new members shows up. To send the request to the Team owners, a Team member only needs to click on “Send request”:

Team owners get a notification about the request (In Teams and also in their Inbox) and they can manage it in the new “Pending requests” section available in the Team administration:

Here, the Team owners can approve or deny the request to add new members to the Team. In any case, the Team member that made the request will receive an e-mail with the approval/rejection of his/her request. And that’s all about this really helpful new feature in Microsoft Teams.

Hasta ahora sólo los propietarios de un Team tenían la posibilidad de añadir nuevos integrantes al mismo y no se proporcionaba un mecanismo para que el resto de integrantes pudiesen solicitar añadir nuevos miembros al Team. Por suerte, este mecanismo ya está disponible en Teams de manera que cualquier integrante puede solicitar a los propietarios de un Team añadir nuevos haciendo uso de la opción “Add member” en un Team:

A continuación se muestra un diálogo en el que se puede solicitar los nuevos miembros a añadir haciendo uso del botón “Send request”:

A los propietarios del Team les llegará una notificación (En Teams y en su bandeja de correo) de la solicitud que podrán gestionar desde la sección “Pending requests” en la administración del Team:

En esta sección podrán aprobar o rechazar la solicitud de nuevo miembro en el Team. El integrante del Team que realizó la solicitud, recibirá un correo notificando si su petición ha sido aprobada / rechazada por un propietario del Team.
